Tips for traveling with your wheelchair
Label Your Chair
Attach a visible tag with your name, phone, and address on your wheelchair. If your chair becomes lost in transit, it can be found.
Before leaving for your trip, bring your wheelchair in so it can be looked over for repairs or servicing.
Travel with someone
Having a travel companion can make it much easier, and will also reduce unnecessary stress involved due to being in a wheelchair.
Plan ahead
When you figure out your destination and activities, call ahead to hotels, or places you will be sighting seeing, to make sure they are able to accommodate your needs, so you won’t have any problems. Check wheelchair transportation, so you’re not left waiting for a ride.
